Oh, how the cookie crumbles

and other such cliche's

I don't understand what makes them so terrible.
I mean, sure, in writing they're quite tired.  Nobody wants to read "you've gotta walk before you can run" in every novel they come across.  But in everyday life?  They pertain.  That's why they're cliche.
I mean, honestly, can you imagine a time when "you reap what you sow" hasn't worked?  So why are they so taboo to even say?
Don't believe me?
Watch, next time you say a cliche, will the words "not to sound cliche but..." come out first?  Or when someone else says one, will the first thing to come to mind be "wow that's cliche"?

Okay, so maybe you don't do it every time.
Just like they don't pertain every time.

But the majority of the time, i know i do, and i know they do.
